I have been reading this off and on for the last several hours. Read some about it, do work, read some more, etc. All of my co-workers I have talked about this with are interested in it. All told I probably spent 45-60 minutes on this.
I have added the one blog I have followed for years and many of my co-adventurers blogs. I do not have the time to read them all today, but now they will be together and much easier to access.
I am not one that even has been able to keep up with my e-mail. I am hoping that I can keep up with this a little better. All in one spot seems to make more sense.
I started Thing 2 while I was at home last evening, not realizing I would actually have some time tonight. This has been fun, but with just the links already in Google reader, there is sooooooo much to see and read and so little time.

Thing 2 - What is Web 2.0
It has been a long time since I was last on the 8 Things, much longer than I thought. I had wanted to do all 8 for credit, but as time has passed, it looks like maybe 2 for credit and the rest for me.
Finding out more about Web 2.0 was interesting. I found it really interesting to see the difference in the Healthpartners Web pages. Some changes seem to be expected. We expect more interaction with all our information and it has become more interactive.
I was unable to view "Stephen's Lighthouse". I clicked the blue and ended up on a company web page. Interesting, but not what I was looking for. I went off and on several times without hitting the correct spot.
Viewing the spot on Youtube was fascinating. I watched it twice. The information came so fast, that I could not catch it all the first time. I think that is also why we are seeming to have shorter and shorter attention spans. Give me lotsa info fast and move on. Definite good and bad. I spent about a total of 75 minutes on this "thing"

Timing - Thing 1 Getting Started
Things always seem to have a timing all their own. Yesterday I was thinking that I would like to start my own Blog. I read one fairly regularly and although I will never write as well or have as interesting subjects, I wanted to try my hand at it. Imagine my surprise when I open my e-mail at work and am being offered free lessons about the Web and the first lesson (Thing 1) is starting a blog of my own.
Not all of life has that kind of amazing timing, but at least today, and for me it does. Of course now that I am sitting in front of a computer, I can not think of other great timings that have happened to me. They will all flash through my memory as I try to get to sleep later this morning.
So far the steps for doing this have been easy to follow. I was surprized by this. Hopefully the rest of the lessons will be this fun and easy to follow.
